Paris2008: Stuctured Sessions Musical Acoustics
To members of the EAA Technical Committee on Musical Acoustics:
The planning of the scientific programme for Acoustics'08, the joint
congress of the EAA, ASA and SFA to be held in Paris from 29th June to 4th
July 2008, is advancing. The EAA Technical Committee on Musical Acoustics
has been asked to submit proposals for Special Sessions in musical
acoustics. The final decision on the Special Session list will be made
during the ASA Salt Lake City meeting, 4-8 June 2007. If you have an idea
for a Special Session at Acoustics'08, please email me with the details
before 15th May 2007. It would be helpful if you could specify whether you
would be willing to help organise the session if it is approved, and
whether you have contacted an ASA member who is willing to collaborate on
organising the session.
The following Special Sessions in musical acoustics have already been
suggested:
- Singing voice and source-filter interaction
- Brass instruments
- Interaction between instrumentalist and instrument
- Virtual musical instruments
- Acoustics of pipe organs
- *Coupled volume acoustics: theory and practice
- *Archaeological acoustics
- *New measurements in performing arts spaces
*joint with Architectural Acoustics
Best wishes,
Murray Campbell.
