PhD position
Nowadays, the techniques available for spatial sound recording and reproduction are numerous. Nevertheless, the systems currently in use, in particular for music recording purposes, are not entirely free from problems about the fidelity to the original scene.
The aim of this PhD project is to make 3-D sound recordings and to evaluate their perception through use of various spatial sound reproduction systems. Focus will be on the “Ambisonics” approach and on its extension to higher orders commonly referred as “HOA” (Higher Order Ambisonics).
